Say Yes to the Dress: Your Guide to Finding the Perfect Dress!

Finding the perfect Wedding Dress can feel like quite the feat, but it doesn't have to be by taking into consideration these helpful tips before you hit the bridal boutique. This is Kelsi Elizabeth Events comprehensive guide to Wedding Dress styles and silhouettes, top dress designers and local St. Augustine and Jacksonville, FL Bridal Boutiques!

Quick Tips To Prepare:

  • Set a Budget! Expect to pay around 10% of your overall Wedding budget on THE dress.

  • Start Early! Some Wedding Dresses take at least six months to make like a Berta, so if you are dead set on a custom couture gown then schedule bridal appointments at least a year in advance.

  • Research Dress Designers! There are thousands of Wedding Dress Designers out there, so scour Pinterest for inspiration prior to your appointment so you have an idea of which Dress Designers you are drawn to and so you can share your vision with the bridal boutique.

  • Schedule Appointments! After you have an idea of which dresses and designers you prefer start scheduling appointments at several boutiques that carry the designers that you are most interested in trying on. Every boutique carries different designers so make sure that you schedule appointments with boutiques who carry your preferred designers.

  • Limit the Entourage! While it may be tempting to bring your entire bridal party, Mom and MIL to your dress appointments, it's best to keep your dress committee small in order to avoid having too many opinions. Remember, it's your day and your dress so put your opinion before everyone else.

  • Dress for Success! Don't show up to your appointment in leggings and a t-shirt unless you're there for a fitting after you have ordered the dress. In order to help the bridal consultant get an idea of your sense of style wear one of your favorite outfits to your appointment, and underneath make sure you wear a nude strapless bra and panties, as well as any heels and accessories that you are considering wearing down the aisle.

Keep in mind you will always remember what you wore on your Wedding day so choose a dress that suits your shape and makes you feel amazing!
